Refund Policy

1. Overview
This Refund Policy applies to all paid products and services offered by English With Anjana Academy ("EWA", "we", "us"), accessible at englishwithanjana.com. We are an online English language education platform based in Sri Lanka, and all transactions on our platform are processed in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) through PayHere.
By making a payment on our platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms set out in this policy. We aim to be fair, transparent, and student friendly when handling refund requests.
2. Refund Eligibility
Refund eligibility depends on the type of product or service purchased.
a) EWA 365 (one-time digital course)
- The first 3 lessons are provided as a free trial. We strongly encourage you to complete the trial before purchasing.
- Because EWA 365 unlocks all 365 days immediately on payment (you can study at your own pace, including binge-style), refunds are tightly limited to protect against access-then-refund abuse.
- Refund window: within 3 calendar days of purchase, provided that you have not yet completed any paid lesson (you must still be on Day 4 with no answers submitted on Day 4 or beyond).
- Once you submit your first quiz answer on Day 4 or any later day, the digital content is considered consumed and no refund will be issued.
- If a technical fault prevented you from accessing the content you paid for, contact us — those cases are reviewed individually and are not subject to the above limits.
b) Live online English classes
- Includes Adult Beginner, Adult Intermediate, Diploma in English, and Kids classes, billed monthly or per session.
- For monthly billing, only unused months are refundable. The current month, once started, is non-refundable.
- For single-session bookings, refunds are available if you cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled class start time.
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the class start time are non-refundable.
c) Recorded lesson access
- Access to recorded lessons is granted as part of class enrolment.
- Once a recording has been viewed, that recording is non-refundable.
3. Non-Refundable Items
The following are not eligible for refunds under any circumstance:
- The free 3-day trial of EWA 365 (no payment is taken during the trial, so there is nothing to refund).
- Interactions with the TalkMate AI assistant (free educational tool).
- Certificates that have already been issued, downloaded, or shared.
- Recorded lessons that have already been viewed.
- Any course month that has already begun.
- Bank charges, payment gateway fees, or currency conversion fees applied by your bank or card issuer.
4. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, please send an email to registration@englishwithanjana.com with the subject line "Refund Request" and include the following details:
- Student full name (as registered on the account)
- Registered phone number and email address
- Date of payment
- Transaction ID from your PayHere payment receipt
- The product or class the payment relates to
- The reason for the refund request
Alternatively, you can message us on WhatsApp at +94 74 027 2784 during our office hours (Monday to Saturday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, excluding public holidays).
Requests submitted outside office hours will be reviewed on the next working day.
5. Processing Time
- We will review and respond to your refund request within 5 working days of receiving it.
- If your request is approved, the refund will be processed through PayHere back to your original payment method.
- Once processed, the refund typically reflects in your account within 7 to 14 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
- You will receive a confirmation email once the refund has been initiated.
6. Currency
All transactions and refunds on englishwithanjana.com are processed in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR). PayHere serves as our payment gateway and handles all refund disbursements.
Please note that any bank charges, payment processing fees, or currency conversion fees originally applied by your bank or card issuer are not refundable by EWA. The refunded amount will be the original LKR amount paid, and any difference caused by exchange rate fluctuations is outside our control.
7. Disputes and Chargebacks
If you believe a payment is incorrect or you are unhappy with a service, we kindly ask that you contact us first so we can resolve the matter directly. In most cases we are able to address concerns quickly through email or WhatsApp.
Initiating a chargeback through your bank or card issuer without first contacting us may result in:
- Suspension of your EWA student account pending resolution.
- Loss of access to enrolled classes, recordings, and digital course content.
- Additional administrative review before any future enrolment.
We encourage open communication and will always do our best to find a fair outcome.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, payment processes, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will notify enrolled students via email.
The latest version of this policy is always available at englishwithanjana.com/refund. Your continued use of our paid services after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
